Windows Agent Installation Prerequisites
Complete the following steps before you install the Windows agent.
Verify that the agent supports the operating system and VM instance configuration on your Windows host machine. For more information, see Windows Agent System Requirements.
Verify that you can log in to your machine as Administrator.
Verify that your machine can connect to the internet.
If you want to configure a network proxy for agent traffic, open a PowerShell terminal as administrator and use the following command to verify that it is a WinHTTP proxy. For more information, see Use a Network Proxy for Windows Agent Traffic.
netsh winhttp show proxy
Verify that your proxy and firewall applications allow access to https://updates.lacework.net/ and the Lacework server URL.
In the Lacework Console, create an agent access token using the instructions in Obtain an Access Token for the Windows Agent.
Download the agent installer to your Windows host machine using the instructions in Download Windows Agent Installer.
If the Windows agent is already installed on your host machine, uninstall the agent before you install the agent installer you downloaded. For more information, see Uninstall the Windows Agent.
note
Lacework recommends that you do not downgrade to an earlier version of the agent because it can cause data incompatibility.
